Designed, mainly supplied and serviced by UREC while jointly manufactured by UREC and BK Shipyard of Vietnam, the first 564TEU Multi-Purpose Container Ship was handed over on July 22, 2006 successfully after two years of building. It is the first container ship built cooperatively by China and Vietnam while is also the most sophisticatedly equipped vessel of new model in Vietnam. Due to the significant meaning and influence brought by its success, the project has absorbed the regard and attention from the Ministry of Transportation of Vietnam, Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (VINASHIN) and the Embassy of China in Vietnam.  The handing over ceremony was very magnificent, at which both Chinese and Vietnamese supreme officials were present.
